Congratulations to Nishad Mysore, medical student from NSU KPCOM in Davie, and a member of the BCOMA Board of Governors!

In a recent statement to the Senate Finance Committee, the AOA voiced its support for reforms that enhance Medicare payments and promote access to high-quality care, particularly for patients with chronic conditions. The AOA highlighted the pressing need for stable, sustainable physician payment structures to address the escalating demand for medical services among America’s aging population. This includes advocating for the Strengthening Medicare for Patients and Providers Act (H.R. 2474), which aims to rectify payment inequities and ensure adequate compensation for physicians, especially those in rural and underserved areas. In addition, the letter highlights several key areas, including:

Medicare payment and patient access;
Aligning sites of service and Medicare payment;
Value and innovation, and much more.

Additionally, the AOA recommends implementing site-neutral payment policies and advancing value-based care models to improve care coordination and outcomes for chronic disease management. These reforms are crucial for bolstering the physician workforce and ensuring all patients receive the care they need.
