CHICAGO–The American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) today announced accreditation decisions made at its December 2 – 3, 2021 meeting.
Comprehensive site visits occur at the end of an accreditation cycle. The following comprehensive site visits were reviewed:
Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Des Moines, IA) – granted continuing accreditation
Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Lansing, MI) – granted continuing accreditation
Midwestern University-Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (Glendale, AZ) – granted continuing accreditation
Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (Athens, OH) – granted continuing accreditation with exceptional outcome
Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine – granted accreditation with exceptional outcome
Other reviews:
Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (Las Cruces, NM) – granted approval for a planned class size increase.
Kansas Health Science Center, Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine (Wichita, KS) – granted pre-accreditation
Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (New York, NY) – granted approval for a substantive change – additional location in Great Falls, MT.
The COCA is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the accreditor of colleges of osteopathic medicine. Accreditation from the COCA signifies that a college has met or exceeded the Commission’s standards for educational quality.
